For the third year running we produced 2 radio ads promoting the Festival Theatres production of Jack & The Beanstalk. With Grant Stott, Allan Stewart, Jordan Young, Clare Gray and Amber Sylvia Edwards attending the session here at the studio. I was invited along to the show last year and was blown away with the quality of the production.
LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE

We recorded the hugely talented Yasmeen Ansari-Roberts here at Offbeat, voicing several characters for The Lord of the Rings Online, for the second year running. The long-running massively multiplayer game based on Tolkien’s world is developed by Standing Stone Games, it continues to attract a global community of players exploring Middle-earth nearly two decades after its launch.
It was a real pleasure working with Yasmeen while she was in the UK, a versatile and expressive voice actor who brought real depth and authenticity to each role.

THE LAST WITCH ON THE KNOCK by AIMEE MacDONALD- AUDIOBOOK
In the thin place between centuries, through a pulsing wound that bleeds out history, the truth of the past is finally ready to be revealed.
Great to have actor & voice artist Sara Vickers back at Offbeat this year. Most recently narrating the audiobook version of author Aimee MacDonald’s novel The Last Witch on the Knock. Available on Audible in March 2026.
Critic reviews
Tense, harsh and haunting, The Last Witch on the Knock explores toxic relationships in myriad ways. Through a blend of body horror and poetic insight, Aimée creates a compelling tale. (Lynsey May, author of WEAK TEETH)
A lyrical exploration of identity and shared trauma, reminding readers of the power of folk. MacDonald's writing is unflinchingly visceral. (Amy Twigg, author of SPOILT CREATURES)
Sara Vickers is currently filming the upcoming sequel of Outlander. She also co-starred in Guilt with Mark Bonnar. She has done many voice overs at Offbeat. Recently as the voice of Lidls National telephone system for Lux Agency.
BBC WORLD SERVICE - YOUNG AND STATELESS
Another fascinating BBC World Service recording at Offbeat, with the brilliant Allan Little in the studio and BBC producer Victoria Ferran joining us on Zoom from London.
The programme explores what it means to live without a nationality. Around the world, millions of people are stateless, denied citizenship and the basic rights most of us take for granted. For young stateless people, the impact is profound and lifelong.
Allan Little, one of the BBC’s most respected international correspondents and documentary makers, brings his trademark depth and humanity to the subject. Over a distinguished career reporting from war zones and political upheavals across the globe, he has built a reputation for thoughtful, compassionate journalism that gives voice to those on the margins.
A Just Radio production.
